September Update

Though Substance Use Disorders is a new CHIP priority, there has been meaningful clinical and community collaboration around substance abuse for years.  Substance use disorders in pregnancy are immediate area of focus.  The Substance Use Disorders in Pregnancy Community Initiative is an extremely motivated group that has been working together for the last several months.  They are creating a community plan to improve the maternal and infant outcomes in families with substance use disorders.

CHIP staff have been working with this team to engage other potential partners, identify new or more reliable data sources, and research evidence-based strategies to improve the continuum of care for these women and their families.
